"I have always believed—and over the years, I’ve delved deeper into this conviction—that we play as we are. The essence with which our music endures is intrinsically tied to the person, their character, and their imprint. The case at hand is undoubtedly a clear demonstration of this paradigm.

 

I’ve known Seba for years. I’ve been fortunate to have him as a student during my time in Paraguay, to have him as a friend, to have been invited by him in his role as a programmer and organizer of both his renowned series at Drácena (Asunción) and the Ciudad del Este Jazz Festival. I’ve also had the privilege of having him as a member of my own quartet in Barcelona, of sharing projects together as sidemen, and finally, of being part of his quartet featuring his own compositions. Knowing him in all these capacities gives me a certain authority to assert that he is a person of extraordinary kindness.

I’m not speaking of his talent, his skills, or his virtuosity—for that, you don’t need to know him; you only need to listen to him for a minute. I’m speaking of a quality that, as a person, permeates his music, and as a musician, impacts the people who share moments with him.

As a student, he was outstanding—one of the best I’ve ever had. As a sideman, impeccable. As a soloist, virtuosic and with a rare sense of taste. And as a creator, imaginative, humble, and hardworking. His artistic ceiling will only be set by himself, but his humanity is what will shine through in his music. Musical talent, creativity, generosity, and an extraordinary rhythmic ability. We are the lucky ones to have him close and to listen to him. Let’s make the most of it!"​
